A Look We Love

Industrial Chic

City living sometimes requires creative living solutions. Soho, Noho, and the Arts District in L.A. have become magnets for those drawn to loft or warehouse spaces that offer a big dose of cool. These spaces are often characterized by soaring ceiling heights, warehouse windows, concrete floors and lots of metal. We’ve assembled a photo montage of some pretty nifty spaces that talk the industrial chic language.

Industrial Chic It’s all about texture. Concrete and fur. Love.

Industrial ChicWarehouse windows, metal and glass tables and masculine upholstery, a timeless recipe for an urban look.

Industrial ChicYing and Yang.  Weathered herringbone floors paired with black and white clawfoot tub against a concrete wall with brass fittings for the industrial mix vs. Urban cool in the bathroom.

Industrial ChicStainless steel island and metal windows for an edgy kitchen.

Green With Envy: Song Qi

It seems like a lot of exciting design these days can  be found in hotels and restaurants.   Designers are usually allowed more creativity and bigger budgets and the results can be absolutely breathtaking.   Case in point is Song Qi, a new restaurant recently opening in Paris. Designed by the French design firm Humbert & Poyet, we love the exquisite color combination of peridot green mixed with graphic black and white with brass accents.

Le Style Kardashian

It seems we’re o.d.’ing on graphics lately here at On Madison. We can’t seem to get enough of black and white, especially with pops of vibrant color. Case in point is the oh-so-fab digs of Kourtney Kardashian in the most recent issue of In Style Magazine designed by Jeff Andrews.

kourtney kardashianWe’re loving the plays of black and white here in the livingroom, realized in stripes, checks and chevrons, mixed with the peacock blue on the French style chairs.

kourtney kardashianAnd, really, shouldn’t every room have a hot pink upholstered chaise? Absolutely, especially when paired up with a black and white teepee. Tout chic.
